The Social Enterprise Collective Grant

The Social Enterprise Collective Grant, administered by the SBAM Foundation in collaboration with SBAM and Incompass Michigan, is made possible through funding from the State of Michigan for the purpose of creating a Center for Social Enterprise Development (CSED). The CSED will establish and expand social enterprises across Michigan with an emphasis on employing individuals who are marginalized or economically disadvantaged, including individuals with disabilities, through these grants.

Definition of a Social Enterprise: For the purpose of this grant, a social enterprise is defined as a for-profit or non-profit organization that has a social and/or environmental mission and operates as a self-sustaining business selling a product and/or service. 

To qualify for a Social Enterprise Collective Grant, applicants must:

  1. Operate within Michigan.
  2. Meet the definition of a social enterprise as defined by this grant.
  3. Commit to attendance at the September 16-17, 2025 Cohort Orientation in Lansing.
  4. Complete the Social Enterprise Collective Grant application.

 

SBAM and Incompass Michigan are exclusively responsible for evaluating business eligibility based on information provided by applicants in the Social Enterprise Collective Grant application.
